Title:
State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Clean Water Branch State-wide Water Quality Sampling Dataset 1973-1998 (NODC Accession 0013724)
Abstract:
The Monitoring Section of the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Clean Water Branch collects water quality data at over 300 coastal locations state-wide using well-established instruments and methodologies. This dataset spans 1973-1998. This dataset replaces NODC Accession 9800067 (Original STORET output format) with the new CSV format. This new set also adds 1/1/1998-12/31/1998.

Why was the data set created?

The Clean Water Branch (CWB) protects the public health of residents and tourists who enjoy recreating in and around Hawaii's coastal and inland water resources. The CWB also protects and restores inland and coastal waters for marine life and wildlife. This is accomplished through statewide coastal water surveillance and watershed-based environmental management through a combination of permit issuance, monitoring, enforcement, sponsorship of polluted runoff control projects, and public education.

How was the data set created?

  1. From what previous works were the data drawn?
  2. How were the data generated, processed, and modified?
Date: Unknown (process 1 of 1)
Standard laboratory methods and conventional hand-held instruments. Standard QC applied to all laboratory measurements.
