Title:
Bahamas Sea Water Temperature Data 1988-2003, PIMS Environmental Monitoring Program
Abstract:
This metadata record references seawater temperature data collected at various sites and depths in the vicinity of PIMS research station on Lee Stocking Island, Exuma, Bahamas. Perry Institute for Marine Science (PIMS) Environmental Monitoring Program maintains a database of environmental data sets collected from the Bahamas and other sites in the Caribbean region. Parameters vary from set to set, and include surface meteorological data and subsurface oceanographic data.
Supplemental_Information:
The seawater temperatures in the data were taken with a thermograph at different sites in the Bahamas. The various sites, dates, depths, and locations for these data are: Adderley Dropoff 1(AA), from 199201 to 200003, depth of 33 meters, a wall located at 23.791N and 76.0975W Adderley Dropoff 2(AA), from 198801 to 199802, depth of 98 meters, a wall located at 23.791N and 76.0975W Adderley Dropoff 3(AA), from 198801 to 199410, depth of 146 meters, a wall located at 23.791N and 76.0975W Adderley Dropoff 4(AA), from 199305 to 199410, depth of 212 meters, a wall located at 23.791N and 76.0975W Barracuda Rocks SE, from 198904 to 199904, depth of 3 Meters, a patch reef located at 23.67317N and 76.20133W LSI 100', from 198804 to 199212, depth of 31 meters, off Exuma Sound shoreline of LSI LSI 60' rubble, from 198801 to 199212, depth of 16 meters, off Exuma Sound shoreline of LSI located at 23.776N and 76.08833W LSI Dock, from 198801 to 200209, depth of 3 meters, dock at LSI located at 23.7725N and 76.10717W Norman's Pond Patch Reef, from 199306 to 200011, depth of 3 meters, a patch reef located at 23.78983N and 76.138W North Norman's Pond, from 200004 to 200304, depth of 3 meters, a patch reef located at 23.75917N and 76.11584W Rainbow Garden, from 199107 to 200304, depth of 4 meters, a patch reef located at 23.79633N and 76.14633W Shark Rock, from 198905 to 199904, depth of 3 meters, a patch reef located at 23.75583N and 76.117W South Norman's Pond, from 199604 to 200206, depth of 3 meters, a patch reef located at 23.75933N and 76.12617W South Perry Reef, from 199901 to 200206, depth of 16 meters, a fringing reef located at 23.77517N and 76.0895W Tug and Barge, from 199411 to 199805, depth of 3 meters, a patch reef located at 23.75178N and 76.10533W
