AERO-METRIC, INC. (AME) was provided aerial photographic imagery collected by NOAA along the shoreline of Louisiana. The purpose of the imagery was to provide digital shoreline and orthophotos for NOAA nautical charts. The area covers the Barrier Islands of Terrebonne and Timbalier Bays on the coast of the State of Louisiana. Ortho-rectified mosaic tiles are not intended for mapping, charting or navigation.
This data depicts geographic features on the surface of the earth.
The ground sample distance (GSD) for each pixel is 1.0 m.

The ortho-rectified tiles are visually inspected for image quality and spot check for gross horizontal positional accuracy blunders.
The source imagery of the ortho-rectified mosaic tiles are acquired at a higher resolution images than the 1.0 meter ortho-rectified mosaic tiles product. The extent of image coverage is limited to the acquired flight lines which were planned to to map the shoreline and therefore may not include all areas within the bounding coordinates.
Final ortho-mosaic tiles were used to measure visible control points against surveyed coordinates. The accuracy assessment report can be found at
1.31
Six ground control points were used to calculate the horizontal accuracy at 95% confidence level.
The digital images were aerotriangulated to support digital ortho image production for the Louisiana Shoreline project area. Airborne GPS and ground check point data was provided by AERO-METRIC, Inc. The project was referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83), UTM Coordinate System, Zone 15 horizontally and to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) vertically. Units were in meters. The digital images, ABGPS data, and ground check point data were used as inputs to the Zeiss/Intergraph ImageStation Automatic Triangulation (ISAT) softcopy program. ISAT correlated image points and aerotriangulated the block of images to create exposure station exterior orientations. All ground points were manually measured on the imagery. These points were included in the aerotriangulation adjustments for absolute ground location verification. The scale of the aerial photos was 1:50,004. The photography was exposed on 12/1/07 and 3/5/08. Rectification was done using the aerotriangulation data, raw DMC images, and 30 meter NED data. These rectified images were used to draw seamlines. The images were then dodged. The dodged rectified images were mosaicked, balanced, and cut into final image sheets. The final sheets were viewed and artifacts were removed as well as other edits performed.
