Abstract:
"Socioeconomic monitoring in Laolao will focus on the users of the Bay and its surrounding areas. Initially, this will not include tourists and will focus on local users including fishers, divers, medicinal plant collectors, recreational users, and tour operators. However, in the future after establishing a monitoring effort that focuses on residents, it would be ideal to expand and include tourists. This will take substantially more resources as it will involve translating surveys into at least four different languages. Saipan's tourism market is dominated by Chinese, Koreans, Russians, and Japanese."
