Abstract:
"NOAAs Southeast and Caribbean Regional Collaboration Team (SECART) initiated NOAA in the Caribbean (NOAA Carib) newsletters as a forum to improve communication and coordination among NOAA and its partners working in the Caribbean. NOAA Carib fosters more effective engagement with stakeholders and more efficient delivery of services, as well as improves collaboration in the region. NOAA Carib includes NOAA employees and partners currently active in research, management, training, or other efforts in the Caribbean. NOAA Carib recognizes the same geographic scope described in the NOAA Caribbean Strategy - the Caribbean Large Marine Ecosystem. While the initial focus is on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, NOAA Carib seeks to maintain resource exchanges with Florida and, as appropriate and practicable, with partners in the wider Caribbean. In this issue: 1) Protection Beyond Borders for the Humpback Whale; 2) Second NOAA in the Caribbean Annual Conference Goes Virtual; 3) TIDE Rising to Support Sustainable Coastal Development in Belize; 4) News from Around the Caribbean; 5) Data Zone (Access to latest NOAA data portals); 6) Profiles in Partnership; 7) Study Finds High Levels of Pollutants in Guanica Bay; 8) Tropical Storms Stir Up Bad Chemistry for Corals; 9) Upcoming Events and Announcements; and 10) Share Your Photos and Artwork."
