Besides providing food, shelter and cultural significance for the citizens on Saipan, the coral reefs generate revenue from tourists and recreational users attracted by the beauty of the coral and its inhabitants. The main objective of the study was to carry out an economic valuation of the coral reefs and associated resources on Saipan.
