Abstract:
During the calendar years of 2012 and 2013, the East Puerto Rico Coral Reef Education and Management Coordination Specialist for the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program, implemented the goal to support the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (PRDNER) on several tasks pertaining to the implementation of management plans and Local Action Strategies (LAS) for two East Puerto Rico Natural Reserves: Canal de Luis Peña (Culebra) and Arrecifes la Cordillera (Fajardo) Natural Reserves. The Specialist developed and implemented outreach and education activities for both sites and assisted in efforts to engage stakeholders from surrounding local communities in the implementation of management activities of both sites"--Introduction.
