Abstract:
"The goal of this survey is to better understand resource users knowledge, attitudes and perceptions (KAPs) of coral reefs in 18 survey sites in the priority site in Pelekane Bay-Puako-Anaeho`omalu Bay (South Kohala). The design is for at least 200 intercept surveys per site spread out over six months (November 9, 2012 - April 19, 2013) to capture seasonal variability. Highlights of the surveys cover site user demographics, site user activities, site conditions, user knowledge of threats to site, support for and understanding of management strategies, sources used to obtain coral reef information, and user participation in conservation planning."
