This voluntary standard specifies requirements for environmental performance and conservation practices and operational safety that enhance the scuba diving and snorkeling activities and minimize environmental impacts of recreational usage on fragile marine ecosystems in the waters of Kailua Kona Hawaii particularly near coral reefs, related coastal environments and impacts on marine species such as cetaceans, turtles, monk seals and other animals".
