Title:
The Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Programme (GTSPP)
Publication Date:
2014
Institution:
NOAA, NESDIS, NCEI
Abstract:
"The Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Programme (GTSPP) is a cooperative international program to develop and maintain a global ocean temperature-salinity resource with data that are both up-to-date and of the highest quality. The joint World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) program, GCOS (Global Climate Observing System) recognizes the GTSPP as one of the international operational activities that provide essential, sub-surface climate variables of temperature and salinity profile data. GTSPP provides timely and complete data with documented quality flags and implements internationally agreed quality control and overall management of ocean data fully in accordance with the GCOS action plan."
