Abstract:
Describes the Ordnance Reef Project, a collaboration of the NOAA National Marine Sanctuary Program with the U.S. Army and Navy to collect data and define the extent of the discarded military munitions sea disposal site off Oahu, Hawaii, and to determine through biological, sediment and water column sampling whether munition constituents are potentially impacting human health and the environment. This report presents the purpose, scope of work, strategy, methodology, and data acquired from various marine resources, sediment and water in the defined study area.
