Abstract:
About 20-minute collaborative documentary by NOAA's Center for Coastal Monitoring and Assessment and the National Park Service to document the shared scientific work between the agencies and partners to support management of marine resources found within and around the Buck Island Reef National Monument in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Addresses the state of coral reef resources, and illustrates diver surveys and technologies used to map and monitor the benthic habitat. The video supports an effort to evaluate the effectiveness of MPAs, and is intended for visitors, educators, and resource managers interested in better understanding science-based MPA management measures.
