Abstract:
Presents an overview of Habitat equivalency analysis (HEA) which is a methodology used to determine compensation for injuries to natural resources resulting from discharges of oil, releases of hazardous substances, or physical injury such as vessel groundings. Habitats involved in these analyses include seagrasses, coral reefs, tidal wetlands, salmon streams, and estuarine soft-bottom sediments.
