Project Summary:
To project reef futures using the new generation of GCMs and present these results in the WG II report I will:1) Confer with lead authors to design and plan analysis.2) Acquire new model data (OA and SST for what will be available (this will not be the full set of ~30 models). 3) Create ensemble averages by averaging the different models.4) Project impacts on reefs globally (for both OA and temperature impacts) and provide data/analysis to the lead authors.
Expected Outcome:
This project will result in updated global projections of bleaching conditions and ocean acidification trends on reefs. This will be included in the assessment report and thus create more awareness on the plight of reefs with leaders world wide. The assessment report is important and has major influence on policy.
