Abstract:
"During 2019, 5,776 corals were outplanted to 14 different reef sites around Puerto Rico through a combination of outplanting from coral nurseries and harvesting cuttings from previous A. palmata outplants. Nursery capacity was increased from 8,000 to over 12,000 corals. Because of the low maintenance associated with BUCAs, they were modified to increase production capacity and increase stability of the structures and added to several nurseries. Genetic sampling to date has identified 82 different genotypes in the nurseries with 300 more samples to be processed during 2020."
