Abstract:
"The Oculina Banks are a series of deep water coral reefs thirty mile off the central Florida coast. Only discovered in 1975, there are no other reefs like them on earth. They lie about 300 feet below the ocean's surface, on the edge of the continental shelf, and provide essential habitat for large numbers of fish and invertebrates, including commercially important species like grouper, snapper, and rock shrimp. See for yourself what these fascinating communities are like and why we need to protect them, in a new documentary film that was featured on Public Television and Dish Network"--Container.
